Dimuth Karunaratne Cricket Career:
In June 2011, he was enrolled into the senior team of Sri Lanka for the ODI series against England and Scotland.
He debuts in test cricket on 17 November 2012 against the New Zealand team. He got enrolled into the team as a replacement of injured Tillakaratne Dilshan. Currently, he is the permanent test opener of Sri Lankan team.
He made his first century on 28 December 2014 at Hagley Oval, Christchurch against a New Zealand team.
He was also picked up for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 but due to his injury during a practice match, he was removed from the squad.
Due to the poor performance of Chandimal, he was dropped out from the test squad for South Africa tour. At that time, Dimuth Karunaratne got chance and he became the 17th test captain of Sri Lanka team.
He also got the chance to represent his country as a Captain for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
