Laxmi Agarwal Story:
Laxmi Agarwal was attacked by his friend’s elder brother named “Gudda” and his two friends and the reason behind attacking was rejecting his marriage proposal. This attack totally spoiled her face and other body parts.
After her some recovery, she started “Stop Acid Attack Campaign” to help other victims who suffered from this type of activities. She also filed a PIL (Public Interest Litigation), in which she appealed to the court to totally ban on the sale of acids.
Later, she started “StopSaleAcid” campaign and worked as a campaign coordinator for which she was awarded by numerous awards.
In 2013, the Supreme Court ruled in the favor of Laxmi Agarwal appeal and regulated a new rule that below the age of 18 could not purchase acids and identity card should be mandatory to purchase acids.
Laxmi Agarwal Career:
She started to be hosted a TV show named “Udaan” in 2014. She also serves as the Director of Chhanv Foundation (NGO to help acid attack survivors).
Laxmi Agarwal has done many fashion shows and also became the Face of Brand “Viva n Diva Campaign”.
In 2014, US former first lady “Michelle Obama” has awarded her “International Women of Courage” award for her bravery.
