Lin Laishram Career:
Laishram first made an appearance in Om Shanti Om as a cameo. She represented the jewelry company Ozoru Jewelry, which has its headquarters in New York. She competed on behalf of her state in the Miss North East contest in Shillong in 2008, finishing as the first runner-up.
She later took part in the reality TV program Kingfisher Calendar Girl, where her exotic features and fit body won her many admirers. Moreover, she was the first Manipuri model to appear on national television while wearing a bikini, which caused quite a stir in her community.
Laishram lived in New York; collaborated with numerous prominent photographers, make-up artists, and stylists.
While modeling in New York City, she attended the Stella Adler School of the Arts.
She returned to Bombay and worked as a theatre performer for three years with the productions of Rangbaaz, Pravah Theatre Lab, and Motley by Naseeruddin Shah. She later performed in Prithvi Theatre, NCPA, and other renowned theatres in Bombay and toured the performances.
She co-starred with Priyanka Chopra in the Omung Kumar-directed, 2014 National Award-winning film Mary Kom as Bembem. She performed as a Nepali girl alongside Prateik Babbar in the independent film Umrika, directed by Prashant Nair, and in a short film by Kenny Basumatary.
Lin portrayed Mema in Vishal Bhardwaj’s historical romance film Rangoon, which also starred Kangana Ranaut. Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor.
Laishram received his training from the Tata Archery Academy in Jamshedpur and won the Junior National Championship in 1998.
