Nikki Yadav Murder Case Update:
CCTV footage of victim Nikki Yadav was obtained by India Today hours before she was murdered by her live-in spouse and her body was stuffed into a refrigerator.
Nikki was reportedly last seen on a CCTV camera situated in her building, taking the stairs to her residence, where she used to live with the accused Sahil Gehlot.
Sahil Gehlot, 24, of Mitraon village in southwest Delhi, is accused of killing his live-in partner and stuffing her body inside a refrigerator at his dhaba (restaurant) in the Najargarh region. Notably, he then married another woman the same day.
On February 14, Sahil was arrested. On Wednesday, a Delhi court ordered him to be held in police custody for five days for additional questioning.
According to news agency PTI, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Archana Beniwal gave the crime branch of Delhi police custody of him for five days in order to interrogate him and determine the exact spot of the murder and the route he traveled after executing the alleged crime.
On the basis of clues offered by the accused, police retrieved the body of the victim, a native of Jhajjar in Haryana, from a refrigerator.
During the preliminary investigation, Delhi Police discovered that Sahil had kept his marriage to another lady from his lover Nikki Yadav.
When the victim questioned the accused about his marriage on the night of February 9 and 10, he allegedly killed her in his car with the data connection of his mobile phone and then stored her body in a refrigerator at his dhaba.
