Renu Raj Education:
Her education was completed at St. Teresa’s Higher Secondary School in Changanassery, also known as Kottayam. Renu was a brilliant student who consistently ranked in the top ten of all students and excelled in class 10 and 12 board exams. She pursued MBBS at the Government Medical College in Kottayam.

Renu Raj Career:
Renu began her career as a sub-collector on June 12, 2015, in Thrissur, Kerala. After more than two years in Thrissur, the Tamilnadu government promoted her to Director of Urban Affairs on May 28, 2020. She was later promoted to Sub Collector in Devikulam. Local CPM MLA S. Rajendran openly humiliated and abused her. She refused to cave under pressure, and the MLA later apologized. Renu was appointed the Alappuzha district’s 53rd commissioner in March 2022.
She came into the limelight when she received a transfer and was assigned to the Wayanad district collector. According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, Thrissur, Alappuzha, and Kozhikode will also receive new collectors. Renu Raj’s transfer gains significance in the backdrop of the alleged lapses of the district administration in handling the fire at the Brahmapuram waste treatment plant in Kochi.
