Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav, also known as "Pocket Dynamo" and "Pocket Hercules," was a Indian wrestler and Olympic medalist.
He was born on January 15, 1926 in Goleshwar, a small village in the state of Maharashtra, India.
Jadhav started his wrestling career at a young age, competing in local tournaments and quickly making a name for himself as a formidable wrestler
In 1952, Jadhav competed in the Helsinki Olympics, becoming the first Indian to win an individual Olympic medal in the sport of wrestling.
He won the bronze medal in the bantamweight category, earning the nickname "Pocket Dynamo" for his small but powerful physique.
Jadhav continued to compete in international competitions, winning several medals in the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games
He also represented India in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics but was unable to secure a medal
He was honored with the Padma Shri award in 1955 and the Arjuna award in 1961.
He passed away on August 14, 1984 but his legacy lives on, he is still considered as one of the greatest wrestlers India has ever produced
