Bamba Bakya was known for songs like ‘Pullinangal' from ‘2.0’ and 'Simtangaran’ from ‘Sarkar'

Popular vocalist Bamba Bakya, noted for having sang multiple chart-topping songs, passed away on the evening of September 1st, shocking the Tamil cinema industry

He was 49. The vocalist had performed the opening verses of various popular songs, including the recently released "Ponni Nadhi" from Mani Ratnam's impending masterpiece Ponniyin Selvan 

Bamba Bakya was well-known for performing religious songs before singing movie tunes 

Despite going by Bhakkiyaraj, the singer was better known as Bamba Bakya in the Tamil music community 

Bamba Bakya, who reportedly complained of chest trouble, was admitted to the hospital and later died on Thursday night 

The vocalist is well-known for songs like "Pullinangal" from Rajinikanth's 2.0 and "Simtangaran" from Vijay's Sarkar, among others 

There have been several expressions of sympathy for Bamba Bakya's passing from the Tamil film community
