Zachary Rolfe was born in Canberra. He joined the Australian Army in 2010 and served in Afghanistan with the Townsville-based 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment. He applied to a number of Australian police forces after being discharged in 2015 and was accepted by the Northern Territory force, enrolling at the Darwin Academy in May 2016. Rolfe graduated as the squad’s dux and was assigned to Alice Springs, Central Australia, his first choice. In November 2017, he joined the Alice Springs Immediate Response Team (IRT).
Zachary Rolfe was fired from the Northern Territory Police Force on April 4, 2023, for “serious breaches of discipline during their police career.”.
