Lagadapati Rajagopal is the son of L. Ramalakshmamma and L.V. Rama Naidu. Lagadapati Rajagopal did his schooling from Loyola Public School, Guntur. Later, he completed B.tech from VR Siddhartha Engineering College, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India.
He was first elected for Member of Parliament in 2004, where he grabbed this seat from Gadde Ramamohan of Telugu Desam Party from the constituency of Vijayawada & again won in 2009 on the same seat with Congress ticket. He was always against of forming new state “Telangana”. On 13 February 2014, Speaker Mira Kumari suspended him from the Parliament along with 4 other MP’s during the discussion of Telangana Bill.
After Telangana bill was passed in the Lok Sabha, he quit from the parliament in February 2014. Now he is a successful industrialist & the largest shareholder of Lanco Infratech.
