Junko Tabei was a Japanese Mountaineer who was known as the first woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest which is located in Nepal. She was also the first woman to ascend all the seven summits. Junko Tabei Career:
She was born in Miharu, Fukushima and grew up along with her 6 siblings. She fell I love with mountains when she visited Mount Nasu in Nikko National Park at the age of 10 years. During her Graduation at Showa’s Woman University, she climbed constantly to pursue a career in this field.
She passed her Graduation in 1962. Later, she joined numerous mountaineering groups. In the mid-’60s, she climbed all the Japan’s highest mountains, including Mount Fuji.
She joined the Joshi-Tohan mountaineering club. After joined this group, she became the first woman who conquers Annapurna III, Nepal. She also became the first woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest, Nepal.
In 1992, she became the first woman who climbed all the seven continents highest peaks.

She was married to Masanobu Tabei and they had a Son named “Shinya Tabei” and a Daughter named “Noriko Tabei”.
Junko Tabei Death:
She was diagnosed with Peritoneal Cancer in 2012. She died on 20 October 2016 in Kawagoe.
