Shankar Mishra is accused of urinating on an Air India co-passenger on November 26 during a journey from New York to Delhi.
The 34-year-old is from Mumbai, Maharashtra. According to an Indian Express article, he had lived in the city’s Kurla neighborhood for the past two decades.
According to his neighbors, Mishra lives with his elderly parents, wife, and two-year-old daughter.
Shankar Mishra was the Vice-President of India for the American financial services firm Wells Fargo. As the incident became public, he was fired from his post. Wells Fargo said the charges against Mishra were “very concerning.”
Mishra had fled his Mumbai residence, and a lookout notice had been issued to keep him from exiting the country.
On Friday night, he was arrested in Bengaluru and brought to Delhi. Despite having turned off his phone, Mishra was still using his social media accounts to speak with acquaintances, leaving a digital record that helped authorities to track him down.
According to Moneycontrol’s study, Mishra altered the name of his social media profile and then disabled or erased it.
