Squadron Leader Siddharth Vashisht was an Indian Air Force Personnel and was commissioned into the Air Force in 2010. He lost his life in the crash of a Mi-17 V5 Helicopter near Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on 27 February 2019. He was a 4th Generation member of his family who joined the armed forces. He also received commendation for his role in the rescue operation during the Kerala floods.
The other Indian Air Force Personnel who lost their lives in the crash were identified as Corporal Deepak Pandey, Corporal Pankaj Kumar, Engineer Vishal Kumar Pandey, Sergeant Vikrant Sherawat, Squadron Leader Ninad Mandavgane.
