V. Dhananjay Kumar Education:
V. Dhananjay Kumar did his Bachelors in Science from Sri Mahaveera College, Moodabidri and also earned a Law from Udupi Law College.
V. Dhananjay Kumar Political Career:
He started his political career in the youth wing of BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party). He became a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in 1983. He was elected to the 10th Lok Sabha after defeating the Congress candidate Janardhana Poojary and also served as Union Minister of State for Finance.
He served as Union Minister thrice in the Government of India when the BJP was in power. He was Cabinet Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism in 1996, Union Minister of State for Finance from 1999-2000 and Union Minister of State for Textiles from 2000-2003.
Later, he started a new political party “Karnataka Janata Party” with BS Yeddyurappa but after some period of time, BS Yeddyurappa rejoined the BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party). But BJP never allowed V. Dhananjay Kumar to rejoin the party.
He later joined the Janata Dal (Secular) to contest Loksabha elections 2014 from Udupi. But he was defeated from that seat. At last, he joined the Congress Party.
