John Singleton Career:
John Singleton grew up in South Central Los Angeles. He did schooling from Blair High School and earned his Graduation from University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts and also won three writing awards from the University.
In 1991, Columbia pictures bought his script for Boyz n the Hood. This film was also nominated for the Best Director.
In many of his early movies such as many of his early films, such as Poetic Justice(1993), Higher Learning (1995), and Baby Boy (2001), consider the implications of inner-city violence.
He also worked in the other movies such as Shaft, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Brothers. He recently created the crime drama named “Snowfall”.
In 1997, his film “Rosewood” was entered into the 47th Berlin International Film Festival.

He was landed into controversy in 2007 when he was involved in an automobile accident in which he struck a jaywalking pedestrian, Constance Russell. But he was released after being questioned. Later, Russell died in the hospital and that case was shifted to the District Attorney.
