Kang Soo-yeon was a South Korean actress who was internationally acclaimed. She was also a star in Korea from the 80s to the late 90s. Kang Soo-yeon Career:
Kang Soo-yeon first started acting as a child in the 1970s. She acted in a few obscure TV dramas before getting noticed for her performance in the 1986 Im Kwon-Taek movie, The Surrogate Woman.
Throughout the ’90s, Kang acted in many films, her best-known award winners being Road to the Racetrack which won her Chunsa Film Art Awards and Blue Dragon Film Awards for Best Actress. Kang was invited to be a juror at the 5th Pusan International Film Festival in 2000.
In 2001, Kang starred in the popular 150 episodes TV Drama aired on SBS TV titled Ladies of the Palace (Yeo-in Cheon-ha). The TV Drama gave her a new source of visibility and helped her win an award. She won an SBS Performance Award for Best Actress in Jung Nan-jung from the TV Drama
After six long years, she attempted to revive her career and break into mainstream TV by working as an actress in an MBC Drama in 2007.
After a nine-year hiatus, she looks set to return to the movie industry with a Netflix Original. The film is scheduled for release in 2022 and is directed by Yeon Sang-ho.

Kang Soo-yeon Death:
On May 5, 2022, Kang was discovered unconscious at her home in Seoul by first responders. They reported that she had a heart attack after collapsing from the cerebral hemorrhage. She was taken to the nearest hospital, Gangnam Severance, and admitted to ICU. She’s been in a coma ever since.
After being hospitalized for two days, she passed away on May 7 at 3 p.m.
